You probably have a few questions you'd like answered...
Check out some of the common faqs below
How old do you need to be to work for schuh?
We'll be delighted to have your application once you have reached your 16th birthday and have received your National Insurance number. Not to get all legal eagle on you but, by law and for insurance purposes, we need you to be 16 and in possession of a National Insurance number.
How do I apply to work in one of your stores?
When a space pops up in one of our stores, it’ll be advertised in their window – we can be quite traditional y’know! All current vacancies are also advertised on our website where you can complete an application online. Top tip – make your application interesting! If you wanna stand out, show us your passion and personality and you have a WAY better chance of making it to interview!!
I'm really interested in becoming a Footwear Buyer
Ah, the $64 million question! We have a pretty small Buying team and, with it being such a lust-worthy job, vacancies are very few and far between. We’re big on promoting within so any rare Buying roles that do come up are always advertised internally first. Therefore, your best route in is to get a job with us in store! We’re not necessarily looking for people who’ve studied fashion or buying; it’s more about living and breathing and being obsessed with fashion and shoes! So if you build your outfits from the feet up, you could be our next big thing.
How do I apply for other jobs at schuh HQ in Livingston?
We call our office schuh HQ because we hate the term Head Office – it just sounds so pretentious! schuh HQ is in Livingston (half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh – geography lesson over) and covers everything from Customer Service to HR, IT to Marketing and beyond! We don’t tend to have many vacancies but any we do have will appear in our ‘vacancies’ section. See anything you fancy? Apply online or send your CV to email@example.com telling us why YOU are schuh!
Do schuh offer work placements to students?
Aw, if only we could! The thing is, we have millions* of students working for us already and loads of them look for placements. We think it’s only fair that they get the spaces we have. They’re like our children, innit?
*It’s more like hundreds but that doesn’t sound quite so glam now, does it?
